Changes to the English Language Requirements

The Medical Sciences Council has reviewed its English language requirements for overseas-trained registration applicants.
The following changes come into effect on 1 September 2012
All registration applicants for whom English is their second language must provide results from an IELTS test
- The IELTS results must be for the academic version and record a score of 7 in each band with overall score of 7.5
- The results must be from one sitting
- The results must be from an IELTS test completed within two years of the registration application
Please note as from 1 September 2012, the Council will no longer accept third party testimonials in respect of registration applicants' English language ability.
