Anaesthetic technician accreditation standards - consult outcome - monitoring framework consultation
10 Aug, 2026
The Council has completed its review of the accreditation standards for education programmes that prepare people to become registered anaesthetic technicians.
What happened?
Between February and April 2026, the Council asked for feedback on the draft accreditation standards and supporting guide. Thank you to everyone who took part in the consultation.
After carefully considering the feedback received, the Council has made updates to the standards.
More information
Details of the changes made to the standards can be found in Part A of the Accreditation Standards outcome document below. A summary of the feedback received during the consultation is available in Part B.
New monitoring framework
As part of this work, the Council has also developed a monitoring framework (included below). This framework will help ensure that accredited education programmes continue to meet the accreditation standards and keep pace with further changes in the profession.

Please include AT Monitoring framework in the subject line.
The Council will consider the feedback prior to finalising the framework.
