Consultation: Anaesthetic technician accreditation standards

25 Feb, 2026

Proposed update to accreditation standards for programmes of education that lead to registration as an anaesthetic technician

The Council is reviewing the accreditation standards for programmes of education that lead to registration as an anaesthetic technician. These standards were last updated in 2020 and are being reviewed to ensure that programmes of education are producing graduates who can meet the required standard of competence and ethical practice.

A draft of the updated accreditation standards is now available, and we are seeking feedback from practitioners and stakeholders (eg education providers). Your input will help shape the final version.

Consultation closes at 5pm on 20 April 2026.

Before completing the online survey here, please read the draft standards, guide, and consultation document at the bottom of the page Anaesthetic Technician – Assessment Standards under under provider standards (which includes a copy of the survey questions).
