Consultation: Medical Science Council scope of practice review - Medical Laboratory Science and Advanced-Extended practice

Te Kaunihera Pūtaiao Hauora ǀ the Medical Sciences Council (MSC/the Council) invites practitioners, stakeholders, and anyone interested in healthcare to take part in a consultation about the scope of practice for medical laboratory science (MLS).

 This is part of a regular review done by the Council. The consultation looks at proposed changes to how the MLS profession can work, and the qualifications needed to enter the profession.

The Council recommends reading the document before you complete the survey here.

The consultation closes at 11:59pm, on Friday 27 March 2026.
