Consultation outcome: Recertification programme (International ATs)

The Council has been looking over documents about anaesthetic technician (AT) practice since the updated scope of practice and competence standards were released earlier this year.

 

Consultation outcome

Thank you to everyone who found time to respond and provide input into the requirements for internationally qualified ATs beginning work in Aotearoa New Zealand, and those returning to practice after a break of more than three years. 

 

The Council has reviewed the responses received, providing a new policy (recertification), and updates to the ‘return to practice’ policy. These will come into effect for applicants approved from 1 November.
