The Council has been looking over documents about anaesthetic technician (AT) practice since the updated scope of practice and competence standards were released earlier this year.

Anaesthetic technicians - safe sedation standard

The Council has put together a draft standard outlining the expectations for anaesthetic technicians (ATs) involved in the provision of sedation. Practitioners and stakeholders are invited to provide input into the standard which the Council will consider before finalising the statement.

This consultation runs from 16 October to 5pm, 3 December 2025.
